What does God need?
What does God Need? Luk 19:31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose [him]? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. Have you ever prayed for something and that prayer was never answered? I mean something you really needed, but still, no matter how much or how long you prayed, your prayer wasn’t answered. Why is that? I mean, God says if we pray, He will answer. Yeah, but it’s the prayer of FAITH that gets the job done, right? But, still even the most faith-filled prayer goes unanswered. Maybe its because we are praying about OUR need and not about Gods need. In the verse above, the Lord had sent His Disciples to borrow a donkey colt because ".... the Lord hath need of him." Well, if He would have been me sent to borrow a colt, I don’t believe I would have settled for a donkey. I didn’t need to be seen walking along side my Lord riding a colt. No, I needed a stallion. A thorough bred. A champion. Not a colt. But see, I would be placing MY needs over the Lord’s NEED. And His needs, His will should always come first. God sent King Saul down to destroy the Amalekites. (I Sam 15) God needed to get rid of these pests once and for all. King Saul, who was appointed to do the job, was given specific instructions on what to do and how do it. But he had other ideas. He had other needs. Saul needed to prove he was the mighty King of Israel. I mean, after all, he had just gotten the job, and he needed to prove he could handle it. So, Saul “tweaked” God’s plan just enough to see to it that his need for validation was met, too. And he “tweaked” God’s plan just enough to get himself in a world of hurt. Saul put his need above God’s need and paid the ultimate price for his blunder. Not only did he lose his job, but his very life was taken by one of those pesky Amalekites he was suppose to destroy. (2 Sam 1:6-10). So, the next time you are struggling for an answer to prayer… ask yourself this question: “Is what I NEED more important than what the Lord NEEDS?’. Jesus taught us to pray that God’s will not ours be done. Until we start praying as He taught us to pray- until we learn to pray that GOD’S needs be met, rather than our own, then , at best, we can only hope for limited success in our prayer life. The Book of Hebrews says it thusly: For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Hbr 10:36. Our need is for patience. Our need is do Gods will, or meet Gods need. Once we’ve aligned our need with God’s need, then patience will help us to receive of His Promise. So, the next time you are praying, and giving God your laundry list of ”needs”, stop a moment and consider, “God, what do YOU need of me?” |

john 15:7
But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! james 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. i have asked and recieved, i have asked and recieved in a way i didnt expect. I have asked and have not recieved but it doesnt mean i wont at some time down the road. I have asked for healing over my wife, prayers from 2 years ago, and today im starting to see them answered. I prayed for work and got layed off, I have prayed and the outcome of that i prayed for was the exact opposite some for myself and some for others. at the end of the day, God knows best and i cant criticise his judgments though Paul was happy to go to mesapotamia, he however to align himself with Gods will had to go to prison, in order to preach to the jailor and his family. Im not big on prosperity preaching, but when i stop and think about it, My needs are met, i am well taken care of. God is Good all the time. and though i dont have all the things i want. I have my needs met. and some of my wants to. |
Re: What does God need?
I too believe it's about putting the Kingdom of God first, but after that's done, there are promises to us that make some folks uncomfortable for some reason. Great and precious promises which are for the here and now, as well as the sweet by and by....
Mar 10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. |
