Whats your thoughts
 

We just had one of the men at our Church get his licence to preach/teach I am not big into church as you all know but do go. My beef is he came from a real rough past and only been in the "church for 3 years" is the UPC that bad off that they need pastors..Plus to my knowledge no bible school for this person. How can someone be a member of the church for only 3 years and get there licence with no formal bible school teaching.

formal bible school teaching may be wise but is not a prerequisite. a call of God on your life and life filled with prayer, fasting, and study is. Hopefully the man can fill those requirements. I suggest you pray for him rather than worry about if the UPC is desperate for preachers.

First of all being licensed does not make someone a pastor.

3 Years was good enough for Paul. Many ministers get a license with out going to bible college. Most of what people learn there can be learned without going to one anyways
