Respect

I don't think a person has to believe like I do to earn my respect. Just thought I might mention a few people that I have respect for...

Jim Elliot...
Corrie ten Boom
The Wurmbrand's...The Voice of Martyrs founder..
David Wilkerson
Lottie Moon
Hudson Taylor
Leonard Ravenhill
Oswald Smith
Dr. Paul Brand

and many many more...

People do not have to be Oneness for me to respect them...

Re: Respect

My Wycliffe friends in central Brazil live in unbelievable conditions and have raised four kids there. They have been there for about 20 years, translating the Bible into the language of an unreached tribe of people. For years, they slept in long houses with the tribe - in hammocks, with everyone in the same room. They cooked over a pit in the floor, just to learn to love the people that God had called them to.

They are not oneness and I´m not sure if they even speak in tongues. But they are precious people of God.

Re: Respect

There are many believers I respect as believers who encourage me. Thank God for some great men and women of God who have encouraged my faith.

Re: Respect

I respect various people who dont believe all that I consider truth. Nonetheless my respect does not guarantee they will attain final salvation.

So true Michael...Salvation comes from God and He alone can grant it.

As a one stepper, I accept people like those mentioned (people who believe in Jesus and who have entrusted their lives to Him and who are pouring out their lives in service to Him) as brothers and sisters in the Lord and as part of the Body of Christ.

I believe water baptism should be:
for believers only
by immersion if practical
in the name of Jesus Christ
but I do not believe it is part of a "plan of salvation."

I believe the Baptism in the Holy Ghost is and enduement of power and is available for all children of God who want to receive that experience.

They must love God and his work to do what they are doing. May God bless them.

As a non-churchgoer, I respect people who respect me. I don't see any need for homogeneous beliefs in order to be respectful.
