My God! I feel Like Tellin' Sombody
Yesterday while leaving to work in the early AM, I found Christian CD's laying on my lawn. I played one in the car while driving, I started feeling carnal just listening to it!
There's something about music that transforms me, usually the beat. When someone is playing secular music and I can hear it, it trys getting hold of me, and I start getting carnal thoughts. But when I hear godly music (all I listen to is black gospel) I start moving in the Spirit! Christian rap music is junk! Christian Rock music is junk! R&B Christian music is junk! Did I leave something out? |

You need to listen to Christian music from the 80's! Nearly all Christian music is atrocious in my very humble opinion. It often tries to copy another form of music but is never as good as the original. A "Christian version" of anything is nearly always a mediocre watered down substitute. It is when it stands on its OWN that it actually is worth listening, watching, or reading.

How many red lights did you run???? That's what I use to do when I lived in the city. I would get so carried away in the spirit the next thing I knew I was at my destination and then I stopped and wondered, Did I go through those lights:nod |

Re: My God! I feel Like Tellin' Sombody
Sigh, time to go back to music theory class people. All music can be placed in a category.
Blues, Classical, Country, Electronic, Folk, Jazz, New age, Reggae and Rock. Each of those can be broken down into their own genres, IE Punk Rock, Death Rock, Modern Jazz, Modern Blues, etc. Most of your "Black" Choir music is either under the Jazz or Blues section. For someone to say that a specific type of "Christian" music is carnal is a blatant lie. Hey even your "Holy Ghost Explosion" music can be placed into a Heavy Metal / Death Rock with their 6/8 measures and fast tempos. I will say that it is the spirit of the music that is the main focus. There have been quite a few of popular "Christian" artists that limit the "Religious Words" in their music so they can easily switch over to secular industry. Six pence none the richer? Katy Perry? Chris Rice? Amy Grant? Just to name a few. |
