prayer for direction
This might not seem as important as some of the other requests here- no one is sick or hurt... But something is weighing on my heart and I could use some prayers for clarity and guidance. I've been dating a man who is UPC, and I am Catholic. He decided to date outside of his church, but then later, after he said he fell in love with me, said he couldn't date me anymore- his mother and pastor came down too hard on him. For me the differences were not too hear to overcome- we prayed together, read the same bible, etc. We tried ending it, but kept going back to each other. He told me if I converted, we would have a future together. Now I'm reading scripture, praying, and attending (Catholic and a Pentecostal) church to learn as much as I can. I'm not in a rush, and he is being patient while I search my heart, but any prayers for guidance would be appreciated.

Re: prayer for direction
This is a very important thing to pray about, maybe even moreso then someone being sick. I pray that God will help you both to come to an understanding and to be able to attend church together and build a life together.
While you are reading your bible don't forget to read the Books of Acts. Acts 2 I was raised Catholic also. When I was about 11 or 12, my Mom and I visited a pentecostal church and God filled me with the Holy Ghost. I was speaking in tongues and did not know why. They told me afterwards that it was the Holy Ghost. John 3 In my later teens, I was invited to another pentecostal church and they showed me in the bible where people were baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sins Acts 2:28. Even though I had been baptized as a baby in the Catholic church, I wanted to do this and be rebaptized in Jesus' name as an adult. Acts 19:1-6 God has a way of leading and guiding us to becoming closer to him. It doesnt take away from what we have learned so far, but it adds more. Pray and ask God to show you more of himself from his word and I know he will. Acts 17:27-29 God bless you and keep you my friend. |

Romans 14:17.
A lot of Pentecostals need to be reminded of this verse at times. |
