I am ashamed...

That:

Of the 16,704 people groups by country, 6,913 are still considered unreached.
9,791 people groups by country are not considered unreached, totaling 3,994,867,000 individuals, or about 59% of the world's population.
Of the 16,704 total people groups, 6,913 are identified as unreached using Joshua Project criteria, totaling 2,828,672,000 individuals. Of these 6,913 groups, 5,907 are in 10/40 Window countries. That means 85% of all unreached people groups are in the 10/40 Window.
1,006 of the unreached groups are NOT in the 10/40 Window, totaling 78,997,000 individuals. These groups are relatively accessible to the Gospel.
Of the 6,913 Unreached people groups, about 3,523 (51%) are small groups under 10,000 in population (or population unknown) and all these groups total less than 8,000,000 individuals. Of the remaining 3,390 unreached groups, about 1,314 are under 50,000 in population. That leaves 2,076 Unreached groups 50,000 and over in population. A vibrant church in a large group may take the gospel to a number of smaller satellite people groups that have ethnic similarities. (Joshua Project)

Re: I am ashamed...

How many languages have Scripture?
2,565. Of these, 457 have a complete Bible, another 1,211 have the New Testament. 897 others have at least one book of the Bible.

How many languages still need translation?
In addition to more than 1,500 active projects, work needs to begin in over 2,000 languages.

How many people have no Scripture?
Around 340 million speak these languages where translation still needs to begin. (Wycliffe)

Re: I am ashamed...

Almost 2 billion people (27.9% of the world) are still essentially cut off from access to the Gospel. Many of these peoples live in major urban centers. Some are more remote and rural. All continue to be largely “ignored” by the Great Commission Christian world.

Less than 10% of the modern missionary workforce is focused on the least-evangelized peoples of the world.(Unreached People)

Re: I am ashamed...

Jim Diehl, Nazarene general superintendent, speaking at the 1997 Nazarene General Assembly:

"The question before us is this:
Is there enough passion in the soul of the church to carry this holiness message to the peoples of this world?

Our problem is not with our profession, but with our passion.
Our problem is not with our procedures, but with our passion.
Our problem is not with our policy, but with our passion.
Our problem is not with our purpose, but with our passion.
Our problem is not with our programs , but with our passion.
When it is all said and done: If we lose our passion, we lose our movement."
