"Ask not what your country can do for you...."
So you have many with their theories that center on the idea that somehow increasing the taxes on America's wealthiest is a bad thing.
Then you have a cross-section of America's wealthiest coming forward and stating that their taxes really should be increased. http://news.yahoo.com/patriotic-mill...185620525.html It's good to know that the wealthiest Americans see the DIRE STRAITS of our country and see the need for action. |

"Patriotic Millionaire Robert Johnson, former chief economist of the U.S Senate banking committee, said that the current economic system is not broken, but it is "working on behalf of those who designed it in their favor.""

I just read the other day that President Kennedy "borrowed" those words. Imagine that.

""It's a Las Vegas economy where regular Americans put their money on the table and the richest 1 percent own the house," he said. "And if the 1 percent happen to lose money, the 99 percent bails them out – covers their losses and then stands by watching while the house does it all over again.""

I've heard similar words applied to the church....
Ask not what your church can do for you but for what you can do for the church. |
Re: "Ask not what your country can do for you...."
JD...its a political ploy. Those millionaires could cut a check tomorrow and send it to the IRS if they wanted to give more to help the economy. Their lobbying for tax increases betrays their "altruism". It shows they are being driven by an agenda.
Any person can send a check tomorrow to the IRS to pay off our debt or help the deficit. Nothing is stopping them. Advocating for mandatory higher taxation is simply cryinbg for bigger Government, but hiding the evil behind false altruism. |
