Brilliant analytical mind but wrong on so many things.

I never really read anything from him but he sounds fascinating.

As a fellow literary critic, Hitchens will be missed in our community. He was a brilliant man. Obviously, like most everyone here, I do not agree with his atheism, but I admired his oratory abilities and uncanny debating skills.

Yep, heard him debating the Iraq war, which he supported, several times, on the Dennis Prager show.

I read one of his books, and enjoyed it. I also listened to a couple of interviews of him on youtube. I have to say that even though I could not agree with him, I did not find him to actually seem to hate all Christians. I could feel honest disagreement from him but not hate. He seemed to be a man that it would have been fun to sit and discuss current events, philosophy, or any number of other things. I feel that the world is a little poorer for his passing. However, he is the one who is now poorest by this exchange. The only thing that I can say is, "God, please have mercy on his soul."
