Re: The Dangers of Sexting.

Why is this perversion being treated so casually? Where is the preaching that this will land a person in the very flames of Hell? This is not anything to take lightly, but they want to treat it as if these are 'good church kids'. They are little perverts in training, and calling it out is a necessity. If that makes people angry, that is too bad.

Pornograhy has too long been called an 'addiction'. It is a sin! It must be addressed as an abomination. Teaching plays a role, but praying a little powerless prayer and calling them saved is not an option. That leads to this corruption of the doctrine of grace. They have turned in into a license for all wickedness and filthiness of fleshly lust. It is time they were called on it. It is time that it was corrected.

I agree with much of what you have to say.

It's a sin. That much would seem to be clear. But where is pornograhy labeled as an abomination? I'm not "taking up" for it. I just think we throw biblical terms around too loosely sometimes when they don't apply.

I may be completely wrong... that wouldn't be a problem. I'll just say... okay... thanks for pointing that out for me. I just don't know where pornograhy is biblically labeled as an abomination.

Help me out here.

When you look at the Bible, anything that is not a natural sexual action/partnership is so labled. The principle applies here as well. What is natural or normal about having an intimate experience with a picture? That classifies it as an abomination.

As for throwing around terms loosely, I am not convinced that they are. I believe that we are not nearly severe enough when we rebuke sin. The time has long since passed to be careful when we rebuke sin for what it is.

I think you're running a little fast & loose with your biblical definitions.

But we often "label 'em as we see 'em". Hence the question.

Parents do need to talk to their teens about this.

I know of a case of a boy who was 20 who sent a suggestive message to a girl in the youth group who he was dating who was underage. The parents found the message, showed it to the Pastor, who reported it. The young man is now a convicted sex offender. He is actually a nice kid who really messed up.

Young people need to understand there are serious consequences to their actions.

I think we need to stick with what the Bible said and stick with how the Bible said it.

We can still rebuke... correct... etc without making it up as we go along.

I sincerely hope no one who deals with this bondage has the unfortunate privilege of getting to deal with you too. :(
