Goin Fishin

Well, I am planning on going fishing this weekend, starting later on today. Hopefully, I will catch some nice ones so me, the wife, and the kiddies can eat some fresh fried fish this weekend. I have been holding back on going fishing this year because of how disappointing it was last year, but maybe this year will be different. Unless I catch some nice ones in the next couple of weeks or so I believe I will find something else to do this summer than waste my money on bait, tackle, and whatnot.

All we have around here are catfish ponds (The pay kind... pay per lb you catch)

The kids love to go fishing and I need to take them again... I am working OT though so it probably won't be this weekend.

D, at this point even a pay lake would be ok with me. I just wanna see somethin I can eat attached to that hook when I reel it in. Know what I mean? I only caught one good sized fish last year, but it was a big one, 31 inches long and mmmmmmmm was it ever gooooooood!

We always catch quite a few fish when we go to the ponds.

We generally reach a point where we just can't afford to catch anymore fish. :lol

They only charge something like $1.89 per pound.

Then we get them to filet them for us for an additional $0.50 per pound.

My grandson (two years old) went fishing with another set of his grandparents last weekend. He caught a fish and held onto the pole! I have a pic of him holding it up and if I can scan it this weekend I'll post it. The fish is big! He is so cute with it!!

I love it when the kids get to catch fish. The looks on their faces are worth more than words can express.

Okay... poorly thought out post.

Now I have cast the Rico-man into a deep dark funk of depression that only a large scaly creature (or slippery should it a catfish) can pull him out of.

:thumbsup

I want to take him fishing and watch him now. His expression in the picture is priceless.

Actually, I may just rough it and go camping this weekend, up north, where we moved from. I am bound to catch some fish if I go up there. I have a tent and all the necessities. Plus, my son would love it.
