What Keeps You Going When You Fall?

Remembering that I serve a God of mercy, not of hatred. Remembering that Paul repented every day. Remembering that there were very few apostles that didn't fall, if any.

I think knowing that there was a lesson, becoming aware that there was a hand guiding, it even got so I could kind of see it coming, just recently.
Um, but I'm detecting "fell" from you might not be "falling" as in withholding your understanding/compassion from someone, but possibly what might be called "personal sins?"

Ya. This makes me sad, it virtually defines Christianity now. I don't know you well yet, Matt, but you are harder on yourself than God is, and I see this a lot among inevitably the best people. Re-repenting, etc.

I can say with virtual certainty that most of the time, when you fall, it is strictly condemnation that is holding you down, and you've done virtually nothing wrong at all, almost surely no sin 90% of the time there, in you. God does not care even a little bit about all that yack that that misguided, death-centered, well meaning ignoramus of a preacher told you, ok? And you can tell him I said that. Peace.

Mateus,

Put the porn away. Ask for forgiveness. Move on...

I remember that the Bible promiss that we can fall, but if we will turn again and repent, He will forgive, cleanse, and restore. I then do my very best to forsake that sin.

I believe that the blade of grass doesn't bend with the wind unless God wills it. When I fall I most certainly know that there is a lesson and a plan behind it. I've experienced it many times. I'll fall hard...I repent...I realize that the fall put me on a better track after my repentance than I was on before the fall. In fact, even if one never sees "the plan", God's gets the glory every time we repent and turn ourselves back towards home. Satan never got that kind of grace. The fact that such a holy God would be so patient, loving, kind, and understanding baffles the imagination of angels. Sometimes I feel if an angel were God, he'd have already snuffed us all out. But God...desiring to see us saved more than we do (for He knows far more than we of what awaits the sinner) is gracious, slow to anger, and quick to forgive. None has loved me as He does. I fall helplessly at His feet knowing that the very breath from this creature's fallen lungs is offensive to His holy nature. Ah... but I rest knowing that His love is greater, and mercy triumphs over judgment.

Thank you for that.
