Others Don't have the truth....
 

First off we have a newbe in our church that just came from another church and the reson he joined our church is because "he said" the other chuch did not "teach the truth" ok first off I don't know of any chuch that does not teach the death,burial,resurection of Jesus which is the truth. I have been around long enough to know what this really means....lol I just hate hearing the term the other Church did not "teach the truth" when in fact they do....lol ok I will get off my soapbox now

There are foundation truths that make up the whole truth. Few Churches teach them accurately. Many Churches teach the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. That is the starting point of truth but there is much more.

Well, I have found that it's possible to get an accurate quote of Scripture from others, and have it be completely devoid of spiritual meaning. Seek your own salvation, and all that...

To speak to your and Michael's...theory, I personally got a lot of Christ's death and burial, and very little of His resurrection, in American churches.

I don't think the individual assemblies responsability to teach every truth that may or may not exist in the World or even in the scriptures. There are basic truths regarding the new birth that are essential to salvation. Other then those truths we are ever growing and ever changing and ever discovering. We won't know EVERYTHING there is about God to know till we meet him face to face.

Could just be God nudging him to find a new outlet? For all my railing at the church, I got set on my path the exact same way, at a church that I don't agree with now. Surely if he had gone to his old church for any amount of time, he learned something there? Prolly quite a bit? Maybe you were meant to show him this, that the change need not be an occasion for griping, but rejoicing.

This is SO TRUE and this church will be glad in a short time that he has left them too! And the next one and the next one..... ;-)

Church hoppers normally fight with rebellion, normally have problems with authority. These are the same kinds of people who argue with police officers when caught speeding.
