Carpel Tunnel

Anyone else ever have to deal with it? Just typing this feels like someone shot a small nail into the top of my left hand (between the pointy finger and thumb, half way to the wrist).

You should probably stop typing...

I is the bulk of what I do all day. LOL And the % of typing I do HERE is very tiny compared to what I am doing at work.

You can get a carpal tunnel brace at the drug store. Sometimes that helps. Antiinflammatories are usually also be helpful too, sometimes helping to reduce the swelling that causes the pain.

I can't mess with antis, they make my tongue twist up in my mouth.

I took a couple of ibuprofen this morning -it helped a little, it sure made my headache go away! But the wrist is still hurting. :(

I am waiting on this to strike me as I have the same work requirments as you. Have you tried one of those gel pads that you put in front of your keyboard for your wrist to rest on? It eases my pain at times.

Taking the ibuprofen on a daily regular basis for two weeks are standard instructions most docs give you when treating carpal tunnel. And using a wrist splint. Those are the conservative avenues of treatment. If after two weeks of trying a wrist splint or night brace, and the anti-inflammatories, and you are no better, it is probably wise to seek out a physician's care.

I'm already being told surgery is my only option. As if the pain in my hand isn't enough. LOL
