Statement of Faith.

Been asked to join the church as a "member".
I asked several times to see a statement of faith.
Can't get a hold of one.

Does the church you attend have a Statement of Faith handy to give to potential members??

all people who are interested in becoming members are given a copy of the "articles of faith"

What we believe is on our website:

An Interdenominational Fellowship in association with other full-gospel churches. We stand firmly on the Bible as the Word of God. We believe obedience to the Word gives balance to the believer’s life.

We glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and proclaim Him as our . . .

Savior : John 3:16; Acts 4:12
Baptizer : Mark 1:8; Acts 2:4
Healer : James 5:14-15
Coming King : I Thessalonians 4:16-17

“The Church” exists where people acknowledge the sovereign reality of Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God. “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And, he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21) As a New Testament Church We Accept These Truths:
Repentance and Forgiveness

Jesus said, “Repent, for God’s Kingdom is drawing near to you.” (Matthew 4:17) The Savior summons our confession of sin and our acceptance of new life through Him. Salvation is available only through His Son, whom He has given that we might know peace and life everlasting.

John 3:16, 10:9; Romans 5:1, 8:1

Water Baptism
Water Baptism

After declaring His Lordship in our lives, we are to follow Him in the waters of baptism.

Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16
Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit has the following gifts to bestow upon the individual believer: the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, diverse kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues, dividing to every man severally as He will. We believe that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law. These should be cultivated in the life of every believer.

1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 31; Gal. 5:22-23; John 15:4,8
Healing and Deliverance

We believe in divine healing. Following services and during the week, we are available to minister the grace of God.

James 5:14-16

Most churches have it on their websites.
Here it's like pulling teeth.
Going to ask again tomorrow!

What kind of church... you might be able to find something on their orgs. website if they don't have one.

Re: Statement of Faith.

I created a statement of faith for our church website. After I typed it up, I let the pastor see it and attained his approval. I actually believe that it is best if a church places their beliefs right on the website. Those who are truly interested will come, and those who are not may not.

I agree, it should be on their website.
They have their "annual" membership meeting tomorrow night.
I should point it out. But I'm not a member, somebody might say "what's it to you?" Lol.

Or they might realize that they have a problem...

I was looking at a denomination and asked a couple of questions on their forum... after about a week with no responses (slow forum) I posted that although we had visited one of there churches and liked it those questions were not addressed in their articles of faith or church bylaws... so I felt we would need to move on... Well that lit a fire under them and I am still getting answers :)

That's good. Maybe I get the same experience.
Been going to church there 2 years now. It's about time.
Problem is, living in the area where we live, there aren't many choice churches unless you drive 150 miles.
