Anger + Sadness = RAGE

The murder of Trayvon Martin and the situation surrounding the whole thing has put me in a place where I don't like being.

Sanford is the next city north of Orlando. It's about 30 minutes from my house.

What happened to that 17 year old could have happened to me. I wonder who would speak up for me should I become the murdered victim of wannabe cop that was bent on making sure that this time "I didn't get away." Not that I am guilty of doing anything, but because I looked "suspicious" walking home from store with a bag of skittles in my pocket and Arizona tea.

Honestly, I pray for justice to be brought to zimmerman, but I pray that prayer with rage and I know this rage has got to be dealt with in a positive way. It's difficult for me to not be enraged, knowing that in the country that I love and have defended and will defend again, today in America, I am witnessing a grave injustice.

I wish zimmerman could know what it is like to be profiled, hunted, and then killed-- just like he did that 17 year old KID.

I say KID purposely. zimmerman weighed at least 100 pounds more than his victim as he wrestled his victim to the ground, pointed a gun at him and murdered him at point blank range, eyeball to eyeball, just because Trayvon Martin looked "suspicious".

For this black man, I know all to well what the term "suspicious" really means for some people in our society.

Some people are saying race had nothing to do with this, but I don't see how anyone can see this incident and not acknowledge the race factor.

Then again, most of the people who "don't see race" won't see it any way. They are tired and weary of the false alarms and the stupidity, numb to injustice, convinced that we, as a nation, have arrived to some epithereal post-race place.

With heartache and sadness, I say, "No we haven't."

I ache on the inside for Trayvon Martin and his family. This incident has happened so close to me. So, so close to me.

I wish people would wake up! Our ears are heavy with the false accusations of the past!

Yet, it's in our America today that the innocent life of a boy was taken by a man-- not a man of the law, but a man flesh and bone who, about a month ago, I would have gladly considered him my brother.

Now, I pray to not be overcome with rage at the sight of his picture, at the mention of his name.

I thank GOD for America.
I thank GOD for the Federal government, at times, the only recourse for the American minority.

I thank GOD that I am not asleep. I have contacted the State's Attorney General's Office, will contact the Federal Attorney General, will protest, will let it be known that I will not let something like this happen so close to me and do absolutely nothing about it!

No, no. I will not be silent.

It is a sad story; but not even the most heinous currently in the news. I doubt Zimmerman feels very comfortable walking around right now; or for that matter, in his own skin, period.
You gotta believe (if you are invested in that system) that justice will be done--a jury will get to decide?

George Zimmerman disobeyed the request of the 911 operator not to follow young Trayvon. He deliberately stalked, attacked and killed this young man.

My heart goes out to the young man's family. I hope George Zimmerman is brought to real justice over his cold-blooded murder of Trayvon.

I listened to the 911 calls, including Zimmerman's. Several calls stated Zimmerman was on top of Trayvon, and that Trayvon was screaming for help before Zimmerman killed him.

It's ridiculous for the police to praise Zimmerman for standing up for himself, and then offer the reason that Zimmerman took criminal justice in school. I doubt they'd say the same if someone shot a cop who was too aggressive and involved in police brutality.

RIP Trayvon.

Yeah, the police messed up big time on this one. They probably even rearranged some evidence to back him up. Something really fishy about the whole thing.

Jermyn, although I do not know what it feels like to live in black skin, I can and DO have empathy for people who are injured or killed because of their color.

This article says: The shocker of this case so far is that the Sanford police say they don’t have enough evidence to dispute Zimmerman’s claim and arrest him.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_a...osecuted_.html

The self-defense claim should never be considered in this case because according to this article, Zimmerman was told to not follow. Yet this grown man disregarded 911's advice, followed this young man and took the law into his own hands. Self defense will not apply in this case because he approached the young man, not the other way around. Zimmerman will be counted as a fool if he tries to claim self-defense in court.

I feel heartbroken for the family that they must endure, in 2012, the sting of prejudice in the most extreme way such as this...losing a beloved one.

It's hard not to have feelings of rage when one, or a loved one is done wrongly, senselessly and permanently at the hands of others. Perhaps when justice is finally administered to the perpetrator of this senseless murder, people will find peace.

I struggle with my own feelings of outrage at things people have done to me and my family. It's hard for me to remember that Jesus said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" when it was done to Him.

I despise cops. They will do anything, anything, to cover their trails and say they did nothing wrong. Even if it means a guilty man going free.

I don't despise cops at all. They are human, and there are some bad ones - just like any other occupation does too.

Have you ever had a cop whose reputation was on the line against you?
