What to do when God lets you down?
So I have always heard it said that God won't let us down, but I for one feel He has. I have been praying for years for God's assistance with a spiritual and personal matter and gave it to him long ago, but to no avail. It's not that I keep picking it up. Or followed me and tracked me down. It is nothing illegal at all or socially deviant either. It is, however, very real to me. It has hurt me and hurt others. What so you so when God hurts you?

I don't know what to tell you Jack.
I can't say that God has ever let me down. I know that people who say they represent God has let me down, then kick me while I was down. It took me years to realize that they are mere human and in no way represent God, although they would like to give themselves power saying it come directly from God. There were many times I have prayed for something I really wanted, but felt that since God did not answer the prayer in the way I wanted him to, I had to take it as a "no" or at the very least, "not now". |

A lot of times, someone else in the church has gone through exactly what we're going through, and God will use such person to bless you in this area. A lot of times, we expect God to something supernatural (and not that he doesn't work supernaturally), but more often than not, he uses other believers to minister to us. Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. |

That is good when there are many people in a church that are spiritual-minded that truly want to help.

If you are not careful, your adversary will use your emotions to shake your faith in GOD and your belief that GOD really wants good things for you. My dear brother, He won't lie to you. All of His Promises are true. Keep praying, keep believing for GOD to answer your prayer. Would you give your son a stone if he was hungry? Why would our Father give you anything less or treat you any worse? Here's a hint: He won't. If you believe GOD has hurt you, tell Him. Let Him know how much you love Him and let Him know how disappointed you are in His silence in a matter that means so much to you. Tell GOD all about it-- your desire, your patience, frustration, and disappointment. Follow it up with an affirmation of your commitment to hope in His steadfast love and mercy for you-- regardless of the outcome for this request. Sure He already knows about it, but honest and open communication is crucial for every lasting relationship. |
Re: What to do when God lets you down?
JD, I have told Him over and over. I know in my head that God is great and righteous, but in my heart things are much, much different. Idk if these feelings will change back... Being honest. I never thought I'd be here. It's a lonely and terrible place to be.
