How's Your Evening?

Nearly 9:00pm here in Cali. Had an awesome day working at the Church.

How goes it for you?

It is 11:45 right now and I am wide awake.

I won't feel wide awake tomorrow morning (early) though!

I was also looking forward to sleeping in this Saturday but we have a 7 hour class for our Conceal Carry License -starting at 7 am.

Uh oh! I sure hope you finally got to sleep!

I wish it was easier to get our CW in CA. :/

Good luck with the class bro!

Things like that really do make us appreciate how blessed we really are.

Jediwill, I'm so sorry for your loss. Maybe it's because my hubby has over 40 years on our local fire department - but I have to tell you - funerals for firemen and EMT's are some of the hardest in the world for me. Do they do something called a "last call" where you live? In our area, the dispatcher will tone out a "last call for _____" while everyone is standing at the cemetary. I do pretty good until then. But when they do that, I lose it every time!

So my evening? Pretty good. We're having my son's grad party tomorrow so I have worked my fingers to the bones all week getting ready. Everything is under control and I just have a few more things to do tomorrow and then it's a matter of waiting for everyone to arrive. I already know it is going to be EXTREMELY well attended - we've had lots and lots of calls RSVPing. Gonna be a fun time!

High School. This is a kid who struggled all the way thru high school. He is a great kid - no drugs, no drinking, no sleeping around. He's worked at McDonald's since the start of his Senior Year. All his teacher's told me all the way thru school what a great kid he was to have in their classes because he is polite, kind to others and respectful of the teachers. He's Mr. Social Butterfly and has tons of friends because everybody loves him! But his school grades were horrible. He did VERY well on the classes where they had him do something called "Credit Recovery". Those lessons were all done online at his own pace. He sailed thru those classes and excelled. But put him in a regular class situation where he had to do the regular assignments and the homework, and he simply could not do it. We took him to 3 different psychologists through his high school years. (one of them did an all-day neuro-psych test). Every one of them said he had clear-cut ADD and needed to have an IEP written up by the school (Individual Education Plan). But our schools refused to do that. So instead he struggled all the way thru. So I am VERY proud of him for making it thru even against all the odds he had fight against. It wasn't easy, but he pulled it off!
