Repentance, The Missing Ingredient
This article was written from a Baptist view, but there are truths and principles which apostolics/pentecostals should consider. The importance of repentance in Salvation. The Baptists are big on the Sinner's Prayer. Pentecostals on baptism and tongues. The article puts it into perspective.

Haven't read article yet, but I agree - so many don't understand true repentance. It's a lifestyle! It's turning from the path you were on and walking the path designated by the creator!

Re: Repentance, The Missing Ingredient
The preaching of repentance is so watered down its ridiculous.
Yeshua told us what repentance means. Its not crying tears at an altar, tho thats ok its not repenting. Here is the real preaching of repentance that you may have never heard in your life: And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned , and said unto them, 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Re: Repentance, The Missing Ingredient
Great article! Repentence with personal acknowledgement of sin, and the subsequent turning away from sin.... is the key and the only key to beginning a relationship with Christ that will change your life forever.
It is wonderful to see that the Southern Baptists are beginning to see that the sinner's prayer does no eternal good without first a true repentant heart, and that repentance being followed up with a "360-degree turning point" in one's life. |
