Psalm 22:3

Psalm 22:3 reads like this:

But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel

This is the common verse that many preachers and worship leaders have proclaimed as "God inhabits the praises of His people."

I'd like to ask a very elementary question.

Is this directly referring to Israel?

Or because we have been, like the kjv puts it, graphed in and have become the children of abraham, do we qualify for that verse?

Now, as I take a closer look at that word Israel in the Hebrew, it does make this mention in the definition:

2) the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob

Are we accurately interpreting this Scripture?

Or, does it only apply to Israel?

Re: Psalm 22:3

We have been grafted in because of Christ, who was an Israelite, a Jew, and a descendant of David. Because of the sacrifical work on Calvary, salvation (or grafting) has been extended to all those who believe on Jesus, who is the door through which all must enter. Because of that grafted in salvational experience, we can identify with Israel.

Indeed, I see this as a verse that would apply to one who has been grafted into the true vine, the olive tree... of Jesus Christ.

- Interesting find.

The fact that God inhabits praise is good enough for me. :)

- Mixing truth-together, instead of 'rightly dividing' it
is whats produced much of the 'false doctrine' we've come to believe today.

One being that we are not, grafted into Israel.

But, 'grafted in Among them'. - Rom.11:17

- One being OF The Olive Tree is OF one being [IN God's House]. - Jer.11:15
Of one being Anointed OF God's Household. For His workings.

- One being of The Vineyard 0f The Lord is of one being [ON Earth]. - Jer.6:9
One being of the fruit of The Vine of His Joy. For His pleasure.

God said Isreal is His Vineyard on Earth:

God brought a Vine out of Egypt and He visited it. - Ps.80:8,14

"As A Vine Is The Remnant 0f Israel" - Jer.6:9

"For The Vineyard 0f The Lord 0f Host Is The House 0f Israel" - Is.5:7

Jacob/Israel is the vine of red wine. - Is.27:2

* Is it any wonder then Jesus said, "I am the (True) Vine" ? - John 15:1
For abiding in Him and not Israel.

It is not directly referring to Israel, but to God. Who inhabited the praises of Israel?

three notes in my Bible written near Psalm 22:3:

"Did you know God has an address? Have you wondered where God lives or dwells? Ps. 22:3 tells us. He is enthroned on the praises of Israel." Jim Goll

"When we praise God as a body, God Himself comes into our midst. We set up a throne in our midst and God Himself comes down to occupy that place of honor and authority." Terry Law

"Praise brings God into our situation but worship lifts us up to God's realm" Larry Huch
