Somebody posted about this before on here. Yup, pretty sad situation to think that a man of God could ever reach the point of being a cold blooded murderer.

Reminds me of something my pastor back in Texas used to say at least several times a year. It went something like "Be careful how you talk about people who do terrible things because we are all capable of anything if it were not for the grace of God".

I think at the time this case was posted in Southern Living Magazine? I use to pass the ruins of the old church quite often.

John David Terry was part of the fellowship I am now a part of, the Emmanuel Churches of Christ-Pentecostal. Believe it or not, even with all the evidence, there were some that believed him to be innocent, and the organization actually had a split over this. Of course this is many, many years ago, but it hurt the organization deeply.

The organization has had a long, rough road in trying to heal after this happened, and just now is experiencing a rebirth in Revival, return to Holiness, and growth in attendance. My membership is at the headquarters church and there are some members there that were in Rev. Terry's church. When they speak of it, and they seldom do, you can see the very deep, deep hurt in their eyes from what happened.

It's sad, but I'm very proud to say our Bishop led the organization through the rough waters, and for those that remained in our fellowship, we are now getting stronger and moving forward for the cause of Christ.
