God bypasses his body, church, people?

So much for I will never leave thee or forsake thee.

I've always thought Branham and his Branhamnite followers were a wacko cult.

That quote isn't helping lessen the thought Sam, sorry.

In Matthew 3:5-9 John the Baptist told some of the Pharisees and Sadducees that God could raise up children for Himself from the stones if they, the religionists of that day, did not respond to the way He was trying to move at the time.

In Luke 19:37-40 at His triumphal entry into Jerusalem when He was asked to quiet down the exuberant praise of His disciples, Jesus said that if they held their peace even the rocks would cry out.

In the late 1800's and early 1900's God poured our His Spirit in a fresh new way upon the Church. Not all in the Church accepted it. Those who did soon degenerated into organizations/denominations and proudly considered themselves to be spiritually better than those who did not go with the flow. In the late 1940's when the "Pentecostal" churches had become pretty formal God moved in what we now call "the Healing Revival" and in "the Latter Rain"and the FGBMFI, which were often outside of the denominations/organizations (Pentecostal and non-Pentecostal). Then in the 1960's came the Charismatic movement and the Jesus People. Again, God bypassed our organizational structure and poured out His Spirit upon those who hungered and thirsted after Him. Since then we have the Vineyard Movement, Calvary Chapel, Willow Creek, etc. which are outside the organizational structure. As these groups consolidate and become ingrown, God continues to draw people to Himself.

I was part of the UPC and ALJC during the Charismatic movement and the Jesus People. We could not understand how those people were being blessed and receiving the Holy Ghost Baptism and the gifts, anointing, and power of God when they did not look like us, did not believe like us, and did not come to us to receive. We thought we Apostolic/Pentecostals had an exclusive franchise on the Holy Spirit.

Out of context. Those scriptures speaks of jews being replaced by the stones. (Gentiles/church)

Why would that saying be controversial? I see the principal of it strongly in scripture.

For me it's not the principle it's the man... Anyone who believes that they are God's only prophet on earth for a given time creeps me out.

yup; but the principle seems pretty sound,
like MTD sez...
"I advise you to buy from ME..."
suggests that one may not.
