Maybe they don't know?
Washington Democrats and Republicans are questioning U.S. taxpayer aid to the Middle East amid anti-American riots in the region and the fatal attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
And that aid adds up to billions of dollars every year. In Tunisia, the State Department has allocated more than $300 million dollars since early 2011. In Sudan, the U.S. spent more than a half million dollars in 2012. And the tab for Egypt and Libya alone since last year exceeds $3 billion dollars. One of the first attacks occurred Tuesday at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, a country that has received $1.6 billion in each of the past four years. They don't have any idea.
For decades that money has been pocketed by whoever is in power and provides no benefit or difference to the common people. |

well, maybe if we keep paying them off or increase the payoffs, they will play nicer

No surprise here. That's how these muslim dictators deal with their own people, kill, destroy, steal and rape. |
Re: Maybe they don't know?
That's certainly how the Dutch were treating the Muslim Indonesians before they got tossed out on their backsides
A grave question for Dordouche of which is more weak / pansy: Letting the Germans roll over you every few years or getting tossed out by spear-wielding Muslim villagers? Small wonder you are so bitter. |
Re: Maybe they don't know?
At this time the entire region is under religious war. The Saudis / Sunnis on one side and the Iranians / Shias on the other.
We continually inject ourselves between the two sides. It would be best in the long term if we pay nothing, do nothing, and stay out of things over there. Quote:

Re: Maybe they don't know?
I think that we should double our aid to Israel and let the rest of the world bankrupt themselves paying off these people. For nearly 100 years, we built schools, trained their militaries, educated their leaders, built hospitals, among many other things. All we have gotten are wars, death, and destruction. We build it, they destroy it, time to stop building.

Re: Maybe they don't know?
Should we and why?
YB said he carried on working even though he knew there were civilians around "because these were our instructions. I'm just a soldier, you just carry out orders … I told the commander there were people around. The instruction was don't stop, keep working. It was not my decision, it was the officers'." We should not double aid to a country who deliberately ran over a 23-yr-old American citizen holding nothing but a bullhorn and protesting the bulldozing of homes in Gaza. "Just following orders" didnt work at Nuremberg and should not work in this case either. This young lady was not violent, did not threaten anyone, and did nothing wrong and was run over then backed over again by an Israeli soldier "just doing his job". I think we should aid and support nations who share our core and intrinsic values of freedom and human rights and should not send a single dime to anyone else. At this time Israel is demonstrating a dismal regard for human rights. Rachel Corrie was from Washington and was not a poor unarmed villager from a dirt hut and we are at a minimum owed an apology.
