Michigan District Resolution
From a resolution passed by the UPCI Michigan District ministers meeting:
"We also understand the need for wisdom, patience and tolerance in both evangelism and discipleship, proclaiming the life of faith and legalism." http://stuffapostolicslike.blogspot....tting-dem.html OK, discuss. (I've already "commented" enough on FB. :lol) |
Re: Quote without comment
Why? You don't respect them, so
why comment on them? What is with the "legalism," btw? |

My daughter changed membership from a church (very large) where she, emphatically, claimed that the women were hard on the standards. I told her, "No, they aren't. They just won't tell you that." She told me I was wrong. After she left, people in leadership talked with her on the phone telling her they follow the standards to keep their positions on the platform. I think I just entered the bitter zone, right? :heeheehee |

I used the link and went to the website and read it. I keep thinking that surely it has to be a typo on the scanned document. I cannot believe they actually used the word "legalism"!
As far as the letter itself goes I think it is probably the template that UPCI HQ / DB used in his Texas district then once he became GS urged other districts to send out. |

I was surprised by the resolution as it originally read, and Rebecca's explanation makes a bit more sense. However, she is correct - once it circulates, it's gospel. And, it seems that this resolution could have stood a closer proofread....I'm sure there are critics who are claiming that they are making up the story about the word "not" missing just to deflect criticism..... |
Re: Michigan District Resolution
Rumor has it that there was a typo in the document.... it was supposed to say "and not legalism"
