Are others called to Pastor?
In most church orgs, there are limited opportunities to Pastor considering that most church orgs are 1 pastor per church generally.
There are generally 2 ways to become Pastor. take over a church or start a new one. But I wonder how many others have the calling to Pastor but not the opportunity? Everyone is talking about restoring a Pastor to his "job" after falling but why not allow someone else to Pastor? |

"A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men." Poverb 18:16
If God called you to pastor and you accept the call, you will one day pastor. I don't believe God would call people for their gift to be wasted. |
Re: Are others called to Pastor?

Re: Are others called to Pastor?
If a person has a "calling" they best make sure they are in the right place, because they can sit and rot if they're not. I have seen it wayyyyyyyyy too many times.

Re: Are others called to Pastor?
It depends on the definition of pastor.

Re: Are others called to Pastor?
I think when God calls a person and gives them the Holy Ghost, there is a work for him/her.
My question is why are we 'paying' people to do a work for Christ? |

Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
(I Timothy 3:3) Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; (I Timothy 3:8) For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; (Titus 1:7) Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. (Titus 1:11) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; (I Peter 5:2) |
