Re: Grace and the Sharks
This guy is so far off it would be hard to even begin to point out the errors. It would be like taking a spoon and dipping out the ocean. False doctrine is ok. Sweeping sin under the rug is ok. Having men for "fathers" is better than having sound doctrine. No guiding scriptural soundness.
Shark attacks against ministry? If people had not been outraged over sin enough to speak out the sin would still be going on. And even with that Mr. Bently still divorced his wife and married the other woman. On top of that now its fully accepted by that so called "apostolic order". Unreal. |
Re: Grace and the Sharks
He calls it the harshest attack hes ever seen in the body of Christ over Mr. Bentleys ministry.
I guess calling out sin is worse than living in hypocrisy. The great Charismatic leaders (in that circle) were all apparently decieved or were ok with the sin now he wants to flame those who called for an end. |
Re: Grace and the Sharks
He was speaking about the attacks before Bentley's divorce. Maybe you missed the multiple statements that Bentley messed up. The issue Johnson brings up is the sharks who in the name of all things holy wants revenge instead of reconciliation.
I find the message relevant in light of the things going on in Memphis. The pressure of leadership and accountability teams to throw the weak to the sharks is common in christianity. Quote:

Re: Grace and the Sharks
The sharks mostly are the "ministers" who cover their sins until someone catches them.

Re: Grace and the Sharks
tv1a,
Let me get this straight. At the time this guy is speaking Bentley has already been "restored" multiple times. He barks like a dog. Hits people in the head when baptizing and laughs as he says "Bam!" Has been in (at least one) adulterous relationship for a while. But, in your estimation he failed because someone criticized him? Yeah, right. Nice deflection. The guy was living in sin. His sin came to light. Don't blame that on anyone but Todd. |
