Angels' Involvement in Worship
I remember when I first started going to my church that we were in revival and at one point in a service everyone was praying in the Spirit. I stopped and listened and could hear several people speaking in tongues and speaking the same words and syllables at the same time. What was even stranger than this was that it sounded as if there were literally thousands of voices. I was blown away and did not know what to think at the time. Looking back I believe that there were angels joining in our worship and that God allowed me to hear it.
Lately we have been having some of the most intense moves of God in our church that I have experienced. The glory of God has been so near and so powerful. Sunday evening I was leading worship and during one of our choruses I could feel angels joining in worship with us. As I continued to worship and move in the Spirit there were a couple times that I could hear voices that seemed different from the rest of the congregation. Just wondering if anyone has ever had any experiences similar. I have felt a tremendous invitation into the presence of God lately and will probably post at a later time on what I've been feeling in the Spirit. I hope someone will be able to share and testify of the same. |

We have a been running about six on Sunday night. However, it is not surprising for us to discuss hearing a multitude of singers in the building. A couple weeks ago, we thought we heard a few hundred, but our building will only seat about 95-100 tightly! We have had these experiences now for several years. In that service a few weeks ago, three of us heard the singing, but the rest did not. Last week, our new convert heard it, but I did not. I would say that God allows certain people to hear these things. I knew a man would be leaving our church several years ago when I heard a voice that was not his coming from where he was located in the pews. I hope and pray that you and your church continue to have these special visitations from God and His heavenly host. |
Re: Angels' Involvement in Worship
As a sidebar, I hate to hijack the thread, but I have a question for Jay. I'm not trying to argue the validity of a calling, but I do have a question. You said your church has 6 members on Sunday nights. How long have you had this church open? Why get a building for 100, if you only have 6? Is there another Apostolic church in your town? How do you verify that the Pastor of the church was called to do so if only 6 people are showing up? Maybe he missed the boat and isn't called to that sort of thing? Wouldn't it be more fiscally reasonable to just meet in a home or rent a small place rather than a building that large, until it was necessary to have that size building?
I'm only asking because I am interested in the thoughts that lead to the starting of the church. I am interested in trying to get a church/home meeting started in a town about 10 minutes up the road from my town/church. |

Praise the LORD! This is so wonderful!
Angels are amazing. We often don't realize how much they participate in our lives, especially our worship. |

The church has existed for nearly 50+ years at its current location, and at one time ran around 100 members. However, when during the tenure of the last pastor, who stayed for more than 30+ years, attendance fell to three. This was due to a variety of factors including the recession during the 1980s. Over the last 10 years we have had more than 50+ people attend for various lengths of time. Some of these were move-in, others backsliders, and some who were interested. We reached our highest point when we ran approximately 20-25 people on Sunday morning. However, after some months, many of these departed. During our time here, we have seen several major miracles, minor healings, three baptized in Jesus' name, and five received the Holy Ghost. We have had others get very close, but for one reason or another decided to stop attending. God has confirmed this as the field that He planted us through many proofs, and has promised us revival from the beginning. We are at last beginning to see the fruits of our labors coming to fruition, and we work and wait for the harvest to be brought in. Resuscitating a church that has been allowed to enter the condition that we came to is not ever easy. However, it can be and is being done. |
