Help With An Interpretation?

I have a friend who allowed his emotions to get the best of him last night. He's in the church, and went out with a friend and had two Long Island Ice Teas. He said when he got home he fell to his knees and repented and he asked god to help him get through this ordeal. But he said last night he had a dream. In his dream he told a man he had screwed up (drank liquor). The man then responded, reconciliation follows a prophet. My friend said he began to cry and woke up and he had tears in his eyes. Any suggestions that I could tell him what that phrase meant?

No, he said those drinks didn't really do anything to him.

Hey this might sound like a weird question but does he pay tithes?

It probably doesn't mean anything. He'd be better off figuring out what the Scripture means than trying to figure out what some dream (which may or may not have any meaning whatsoever) means.

He OBVIOUSLY did not have faith to drink two Long Island Iced Teas. (It's 'iceD tea', by the way, not 'ice tea'.) Paul laid out the principle pretty clearly - whatsoever is not of faith is sin'.

Since he doubts whether what he did was acceptable to God, he should confess it to God, and repent of it (ie not do that again). And then move on.

Either that or He can doubt God even more, suggesting God is not to be trusted or maybe might even be a liar, and continue beating himself up over the incident. Either God forgives, or He doesn't. If He doesn't we're all in deep trouble. If He does, then confess, forsake, give thanks, and drive on.

I just realized you said he had already confessed and repented... so He needs to move ahead.

As for 'reconciliation follows a prophet' or some other such thing, sounds like a catchy sermon title.

Nothing found on google.

He already has a prophet - JESUS. And Jesus has made reconciliation between your friend and God.

And, not to be flippant, but how is 'two drinks' an 'ordeal'?

I admit it was quite an ordeal to swallow down a neighbor's homemade Bloody Mary (made with a metric butt-load of tabasco and red pepper), but still...

It means he can do anything he wants, and he'll be fine. I guess. ;)
