Christmas Eve 1957

This picture was taken on Christmas Eve, 1957. My sweetheart, Patti Crider, age 16 is standing there in her living room on Borden Street in the Cumminsville area of Cincinnati. Although you can't see it in this picture,
on her left hand is the engagement ring I gave her for Christmas. I had just turned 20 years old a few days before. Her Dad co-signed for me so I could buy the ring. In the pictures behind her are her younger sister Paula and Daryl who is one of her younger brothers. Another younger brother, Danny, is not shown there. On February 28, 1958 she and I were married in her grandparents' parlor on Maryland Ave. Her grandfather, Rev. Fred Crider a minister with The Church of Jesus Christ, performed the ceremony. I guess it "took" because we are still together and still in love. Danny, Daryl, and Paula are now my brothers-in-law and sister-in-law and are all grandparents. Pat and I now have 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
