Mike Huckabee Statements

So good ole Mike Huckabee basically said that the school shooting happened due to us taking GOD out of schools. Does everyone agree with this? To me this makes it sound like GOD is punishing school children by killing them for their lack of prayer in schools. I bet there was some Christians sprinkled in the group. You are going to tell me that GOD let this happen due to our lack of prayer in schools? To me statements like this make Christians look bad.

It depends.

Based on the Bible, does God hear the prayers of people who don't know Him?

Based on the Bible, is there any value to a general acknowledgment of God by people who are still lost in their sins?

You are entitled to your opinions as he is. People that say others make Christians look bad, make Christians look bad, IMO.

Psalm 139:1-13

King James Version (KJV)

1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

We need to get prayer in our homes before we worry about prayer in schools.

Besides... do you want some liberal Episcopal Christian leading the class to pray? How about a Muslim? A Hindu? Or a New Age teacher? The schools aren't qualified to lead kids in prayer.

No MAN can take God out of anywhere. He can however withdraw himself from individuals.

Matthew 10:28

King James Version (KJV)

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

someone asked the question "where was God"

I responded with, you dont get to abandon God then when things go wrong wonder where He is."

That is not an indication that God "caused" something to happen. However, when you turn from any association with God and morality, it stands to reason that society will drift. That drift has natural fallout.

It is no different from people who feed their bodies junkfood all day every day then blames God when they get sick. God didnt make them sick. They made themselves sick.

God was not behind this killing. A societ that has become Godless however is.

I would point to two things.

1. God did not utterly distroy Ammon (I believe it was Ammon) because according to the bible "their cup of iniquity was not yet full".

Saul was later ordred to distroy them. They had reached that point. my study indicates they had begun child sacrifice.

2. The story of Jonah is instructive. The city repented of its evil. These were not Jewish people to start with and they were not Jewish people when Jonah left.
