Why do people say after someone dies, they now have a guardian angel watching over them? Weren't angles created by God?

This condition is called "ignorance," an inherited malady! We're all born that way, you know (sadly, many live their entire lives that way). :)

I mean some people believe humans turn into animals when we die... why should ignorance surprise anyone anymore?

I am referring to Christians, it's like they don't read the Bible at all.

Methinks most Christians believe that reading and studying the Bible is the Pastor/Preacher's responsibility.... eagerly anticipating the next worship service so they can hear what new thing God has revealed. :)

I realized a long time ago that most Christians are actually what I call Biblically illiterate, and I personally think most "christian pastors" want this to be so in order to keep people dependent on them for "answers" and "insight". Rather then doing what pastors are supposed to be doing and teaching their congregations how to rightly divide the word of God and empowering them with information so that they can reach the lost. I can't tell you how frustrated I get, even in the Apostolic church, when I see churches with pastors who if you sit down and talk to them can recite whole passages of scripture by heart, but their congregants know Acts 2:38 or John 3:16 and that's "good enough for them". It's like why do you have a masters in divinity and your people couldn't hold a decent conversation on simple bible topics. Then they go every Sunday to hear an emotionally charge sermon, but nobody teaches them the scripture. And YES Cindy I've met self-proclaimed "christians" that believe we turn into animals when we die.

Christians will not be angels but in the resurrection they will became AS angels having spiritual bodies.
