Top 15 Causes of Death in the US 2011

The 15 leading causes of death in 2011 (Table B) were as follows:
1 Diseases of heart
2 Malignant neoplasms
3 Chronic lower respiratory diseases
4 Cerebrovascular diseases
5 Accidents (unintentional injuries)
6 Alzheimer’s disease
7 Diabetes mellitus
8 Influenza and pneumonia
9 Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome and nephrosis
10 Intentional self-harm (suicide)
11 Septicemia
12 Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis
13 Essential hypertension and hypertensive renal disease
14 Parkinson’s disease
15 Pneumonitis due to solids and liquids

Hmmm... Nothing about weapons listed...

It is interesting that "homicides" were number 15 in 2009
http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr60/nvsr60_03.pdf

But homicides have dropped since then. These "homicides" include all types of homicides from vehicular homicide to knives to handguns etc. The "Assault Rifle" represents only a small fraction of the total homicides committed and will do next to nothing to reduce the rates of homicide. These are the facts.

By drilling into the CDC reports you will find in 2009 (the report where homicides ranked number 15) we find:
Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis ............................ Both Sexes ..... Men ........ Women
Alcoholic liver disease...... (K70) .............................. 15,183 .......... 10,881 ..... 4,302

Cause of death (based on ICD–10, 2004) .................... Both sexes ......... Male ........ Female
Assault (homicide) by discharge of
firearms. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (*U01.4,X93–X95) ......... 11,493 .............. 9,615 ...... 1,878

*** Please note that the discharge of firearms includes all types of firearms and it is unknown if these include self defense scenario's.

We can see that Alcoholic liver disease is larger problem than the discharge of firearms so why are the gun grabbers not pushing for prohibition? The figures for alcohol would no doubt be far more stunning when other alcohol related fatalities are included such as vehicular manslaughter for driving drunk and/or other behavior's associated with drinking.

The facts are millions of weapons owners shot no one yesterday and those advocating "gun control" are the same one's with tax payer funded armed guards. We pay for their protection while they strip us of our only resource for protection.

Excellent post. Thanks for digging up this interesting info.

Obviously there is a hidden agenda at work here on the gun control issue, much larger than meets the eye.

The majority of these causes of death are nutritional deficiencies of which the UN and the FDA wants to implement the pathetic Codex Alimentarius supplement restrictions right here in the USA.
