Coffee

Is all coffee created equal? If not, why not? What is your favorite, and why?

And should coffee be allowed in the Sanctuary of our churches?

Re: Coffee

My favorite is the Columbian coffee. It is bold and rich.

I love coffee, but I am extremely sensitive to caffeine and cannot even drink one cup before my heart starts skipping beats.

Let's face it. We all are guilty at some time in our life of spilling our drinks. Coffee should stay in break rooms where it can be placed on a table.

Re: Coffee

I really like flavored coffee. But, I have discovered many contain substances that I react to......even coffee isn't safe :foottap

I haven't been able to add half & half for 3 years. But black coffee is not a guarantee I will not have a reaction.

In coffee OR any other food.....if an additive, ingredient etc is less than a certain % it need not be listed :girlytantrum

So, what if I enjoy a good cup of coffee, and do not wish to give it up?

Re: Coffee

Read the label.....but not the ingredients as such.

I look for the Kosher symbol : pareve; parve on the package.

That is my guarantee that it is safe!

I have had a Keurig for about 4 years. I now know what to look for on the box.

The winners: Wolfgang Puck, and there are several choices
and Van Houtte, again, several flavors :hypercoffee

These are good flavored and no reaction to hidden dairy ( or whatever else is hiding in their coffee :nod).

No not all coffee is created equal. Thank you for starting a thread one of favorite indulgences. Arabica beans are the ones to get. Grind them yourself in a burr grinder and brew in a French press. Yum. I'll add a pic later.

Re: Coffee

Fresh - dark roasted beans (I prefer Colombian) roasted no more than a week ago.

Fresh ground - just before using

Pressed - as in espresso

I like Walmart coffee. Can't tell a bit of difference between it and more expensive stuff. I have a coffee grinder, tried several kinds of pricey coffee and couldn't tell much difference at all.

Re: Coffee

All coffees are certainly NOT created equal!

I went through a phase of grinding my own coffee beans and it was better fresh but not enough better to keep doing it. LOL!!

I like Folgers Gourmet dark blend but the last year or so have Community Coffee Dark Roast set up on a subscription service at Amazon. I get shipped 2 qty 32oz bags every two or three months.

I don't like cheap bitter coffee but I am too cheap to spend a fortune on the really high end roasts.

I also hate Starbucks coffee as it always tastes scorched to me.

One of our family presents to ourselves at Christmas was a Bunn coffeemaker that brews at a precise optimum temperature and it keeps water in the tank at that temp at all times so it only takes about 3 minutes to make a fresh and very hot pot of coffee.
