How the T. Drost Situation Is Affecting Me
A few months ago I submitted by application witht he World Mission's board of the UPCI to become an "Associate in Missions" to the country of Mexico. Sadly, I was informed by the board that the UPCI would not be sending any new missionaries to Mexico until further notice and was calling appointed missionaries home from Mexico. Why? Because of the T.W. Drost situation.
That's right. The Great Commission as it relates to Mexico is on hold because of one man. Souls do not matter. Obeying Christ's command does not matter. Let's play denominational politics here and let the world go to hell. Sorry, but I've had enough. This kind of garbage simply is not of God. It's bad enough we still have the antiquated "deputation" system where missionaries have to leave the field for 1-2 years at a time in order to beg the church to continue to support them. But now this? I'm seriously thinking of just going at it alone as an independent. Do I really want to bring new converts into such an unhealthy spiritual environment? Allot of this comes from the false, unbiblical idea that allot of these ministers have that they are SSOOO important and needed by God to begin with. I completely disagree with T.W. drost's attitiude. But I think the UPCI is making a huge mistake by taking this "wait and see" attitude when it comes to Mexico. They could still send missionaries and tell them to stay out of political affairs of IPUM and just be about the Father's business. Thank you for letting me vent. |

Cry me a river.
Did call you to Mexico? Go. |
Re: How the T. Drost Situation Is effecting Me
Paul didn't need PIMs to spread the Gospel. If you're called, go.

Not to slam a org.but you don't have to belong to one to do a work for God,if you desire to join another one there are plenty of Op fellowships out there,or be independent but if God calls you to do something He will make a way.

I get so tired of hearing these guys whine about missions. Missionaries live the charmed life. I also don't understand the need for "approval." |

Charmed life...LOL.
Here, give up your home/job/etc and move to a foreign country where in many cases they don't speak your language. Live hundreds or thousands of miles away from all your friends and family. Maybe, just maybe, you will get enough support to actually pay the bills. Yeah...charmed. |

Are you sure it is only the Drost situation? The US State Department has warned Texans to stay away from Mexico. It is am extremely volatile place to be right now.
