What Really Matters...
We have a thriving youth group. They are growing and really are "on fire". When I see all the criticisms towards the UPC and other things it seems like such a waste. Everyone talks the talk but do you walk the walk?
Recently a young man had been coming to our Wed night youth meeting. He had determined to become a regular attendee. Last Wed the young man aas touched by the Lord and he indicated he really wanted to get his life together and walk with God. As I left last Wed I saw one brother ministering to him, talking about the Lord and his recent experience. Last night before church, he was waiting for a ride...some thugs shot him 4 times in the chest and he died. Just think about that...What really matters? |

Oh no, what a tragedy! :(
So many souls hanging in the balance.... you are so right....What really matters |
Re: What Really Matters...
What an incredible tragedy... one can only place him in the arms of a merciful God.
May we all reconsider how we minister to those who don't know Jesus! |
Re: What Really Matters...
Hurt my heart, and made me cry. While we bicker over insignificant things, souls are lost.

Prax: I am very sorry to hear this news; my best you and your church family. I and my family will be praying for you, and your church family.

Re: What Really Matters...
This is why we are instructed not to quibble over disputable matters. I refuse to debate any of that nonsense and I refuse to base my beliefs on anything other than the Word.
It's just too important to play. |

I got off the phone with the brother that was on his way to pick him up for church. He's pretty upset but not deterred.

Re: What Really Matters...
Prax, I don't know how many details you know but was this a random drive by? Or was he mugged or part of the gang culture and trying to get out of it?
It sounds like he got "touched by the Lord", interested in church and putting his life back in order just in time. |
