A Rick Warren quote!

Quote:

“@RickWarren: We shouldn't be surprised the Israelites kept falling away to follow false gods. We do it too: #sex #money #status #self”
I'm getting upset when I see pastors posting these kind of quotes.
It seems to me that a lot of people in leadership are quoting Rick Warren these days....

Any comments?

Is it the quote you're upset about, the quotee, or both?

Should pastors quote Rick Warren or
should they quote scripture?

Re: A Rick Warren quote!

Oh, ok. Gotcha. Obviously scripture should come first. Books can be a good thing, but often times more attention is given to them - and the sayings of a popular pastor - than the bible.

Both.

There isn't one preacher who has a corner on all truth.

I have learned from Baptists and Charismatics-- and of course, Apostolics.

Well, I would not long stay in
the church where Rick Warren
quotes are flying around
on a weekly basis.
Sorry.

How many preachers these days
use Warren's sermons instead
of being led by the Holy Spirit?
