Bible Scholars OT Foretelling Jesus Birth
What scriptures do you use to show where the OT foretold the coming of Jesus the Messiah?
I may not be right back as it is late my time and tomorrow is a busy day for me. Will be back to discuss. Thanks |

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Numbers 24:17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. |

I think Isa 7:14 is one of the strongest. |
Re: Bible Scholars OT Foretelling Jesus Birth
The term seed of a woman is used here to signify the virgin birth in most of not all other places a baby is called the seed of a man.
In isa 9 the baby that is being spoken of is to be called the Mighty GOD, the everlasting Father. I think this verse is very explicit. In Micah 5 the ruler spoken of is said to be eternal in that it says "whose goings forth have been of old from everlasting". Who else could this be speaking of? Also when Herod asked the priest where the Messiah was to be this is the passage that they winter and he reported to the wise men. |
Re: Bible Scholars OT Foretelling Jesus Birth
Isn't there a scripture that says something like can any good thing come out of Nazareth?

"Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see." (John 1:45-46, KJV) |
