I kinda feel the same way as Prax. I believe we should contend for the faith and that we should believe it with all our hearts.

But the "way" we contend for the faith is something that needs to be clarified. For if we go about like those in the Inquisition and the Crusades "defending the faith" we have become murderers, and that is violating Jesus most basic teaching - love one another. That is an extreme example, of course, but the point is made.

So, yes I believe we should stand for our faith... but as to how to contend for the faith... we must be very, very careful that we don't violate the very basic teachings of Jesus in order to take our stand, and that can be hard to find that balance.

I believe that we must contend for the faith, yet without seeming to be contentous, in as much as that is possible.

We should contend for the faith... in lives and families. Working out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

The good old Apostolic Contender newsletter had it right all along! (At least initially.)

Apparently even they didn't preach it hard enough -otherwise they wouldn't have quit their publication. They needed to mention "TV", "Video", "Rock music", and "Jezebel" at least 100 times more per issue. I felt they got too soft at the end.
