RNC Spring Meeting

Just a little update:

Morton Blackwell (VA) proposed rules be reversed to the 2008 adopted rules (prior to the Ginsberg/Tampa coup.) The committee rejected that. Johnson (MN) proposed the deletion of 16(a)(1). Passed committee, voting today - requires 126 of 168 to pass. This will be a war of incremental battles.

I can't stand the RNC. :smack

What's next for Rule 16?

The repeal effort now goes to the larger body (full RNC committee) on Friday where it must pass with a 75% threshold. This is a daunting number and chances are slim that those votes are there.

We are also working with delegates to make amendments to:

Rule 16 (a) (1) - Requires primaries and caucus to be binding.

Liberty is always an ideal and tyranny is ever present. That's reality.

The fact is, for now and until the ballot access rules are changed at the state level by US and we ditch the electronic voting machines (again state level YOU and I have to do the work); the GOP is the ONLY option for liberty at the FEDERAL level. Until alternate parties and independent candidates have access to ballots and gain state houses and a governorship or two; the duopoly shall remain at the national level.

The simple fact is these rules and all the illicit measures the RINO Republicans are engaging in reveal their weakness. They are afraid of us and they are losing, which is why NOW is the time to increase the pressure, fight harder and support those who are CURRENTLY in office fighting the fight Ron Paul fought ALONE. Senators Paul, Cruz, Lee, Rep. Amash and company NEED our help NOW, not only in 2016 (keep in mind 2014 comes first.)

We are NOT Atlas, if we shrug the GOP merely keeps losing to the Democratic-socialists and the RINOs grow stronger without our counterbalance.

A little more background info for anyone that doesn't understand what has happened and another reason for ORomney's loss.

Undoing the ‘Ginsberg’ rules at the Spring RNC meeting
Morton Blackwell's charge to restore power to the grassroots

Long story short: The Romney campaign, through D.C. attorney Ben Ginsberg (and then-surrogate John Sununu), strong-armed the Rules Committee into changing a number of rules that would consolidate power with the campaign of the incumbent (thinking ahead to 2016, Romney’s second term). Once the changes made it out of committee and to the floor, there was considerable objection as John Boehner presided over the vote to approve the rules. Virginia was unanimous in our opposition.

But Romney didn’t win. And the rules changes won’t have their intended effect.

Rule 16 (A) (2) was repealed by a unanimous vote, an outstanding victory for the grassroots. :thumbsup

Rule 16 (A) (1) was upheld, allowing the national leaders to continue determining how states conduct their primary processes. :thumbsdown

Rule 12 was not brought up for a vote at all. :thumbsdown
