The Christian Man
The Christian Man
A Christian true is more astute than scientist or sage In every bell, he finds her root, and den of her lion cage A diamond he of potash crude, and champion of his race Tho’ rivers of vicissitude run down upon his face More prowess than the athlete, a Christian sure is he Thru tempest sore a steady beat, upon life’s raging sea More passion than a poet fair, or artist set ablaze More valor than a soldier dare, a fighter all his days A serpent he, of cunning deed…an eagle o’er his prey A lioness with cubs to feed, and so the weak to slay All wrapped in kindly words of love, a jester with a wrench A slave of choice to one above, who overcame his stench A master of the moment now, eternity ahead A follower of Christ his vow, the Christian man is dead |
