Barkley, Collins, Broussard, Gays and the NBA

So..I love NBA Basketball and I was watching as the News "broke" regarding a basketball player admitting publicly he is gay.

I didn't have the same fascination as others. My first thoughts were "so?"...I mean what's the big deal? Haven't we always assumed the NBA has gay players? We also know there are adulterers, drug users and hey they've and some nuts who run into the stands and beat up fans.

My second thought was...yeah? Why does it need to be "exposed"? Do heterosexuals come out and let everyone know they are straight? Of course not so yes I do see this as part of the "agenda" to normalize an aberration. No I did not need to know nor did I care..

Collins came out as a 34 year old gay center...he is also not that great a player and probably won't see many more NBA days, unless some team wants an openly gay man as a novelty or political statement but the fact is he is old and not that good. 34 for most is getting near the end of their career.

Barkley. I respect this man despite our differences politically or religiously but he came out in support of this man and other gays as well as gay marriage but also came out in support of people like me who don't agree with the gay lifestyle.

that leads me to Broussard..another ESPN commentator who flat out on the air confessed he is a Christian and not only disagrees with the gay lifestyle and gay marriage but also addressed how other NBA stars engage in adultery. Well ESPN is sort of backpeddling now to distance itself from Broussard but they can't backpeddle from what Barkley (another ESPN personality) said. He specifically defended Broussard's rights to disagree.

How come it can't be like that across the board? Thumbs up to Broussard and Barkley.

I think we can agree and disagree. I just hate how people call others bigots if they dont agree with their lifestyle.

Its not being a bigot or racist to put down the acts or life style of people that are "glbt"!!!!
Your god would not uphold their actions.
He would not watch them play a game.
He would not tell them to live any way they wish.
God would tell you that if you support or condone their in any way to emply their life style is ok then you are one yourself. Read romans chapters 1 and 2.
Apostolics make me sick with their bouble standards.
It is ok to say it is wrong but it is ok to promote it as long as i do not have to make a stand against it.
You oneness set rules for others that stating they are living wrong and then praise them for standing and telling every person about it and say what respect you have for them for making their statement.
You are a foolish person and live contrary to the very scripture you state you live by.
Whatever god states is wrong is wrong and we better not support it.

Barkley's not with espn. The NBA is a joke and has been for a long time. It's not real basketball...just entertainment...and becoming more political by the day. I'm a Spurs fan....planned on watchin a few of their playoff games if I had nothin better to do...until Stern came out and said what he said about Collins comin out. Nah...not gonna support that junk with my viewership. I've got plenty of Duck Dynasty episodes I can watch.

And the President of the United States called to congratulate Collins for the bravery in 'coming out'.

Since when is that his job...to call the citizens of this country, giving support for a decision or lifestyle?

If he supports him privately, that's his business. But when it is made public that the so-called leader of our nation makes a call, he needs to call those who are raising young children alone...working a minimum wage job and trying to get along.

Call those with special needs children, Sir...

How about a 'straight' 61 year old Christian lady? I didn't get a call, and frankly don't want one or expect one.

But the point is, that is not his job.

Do your J-O-B, Mr. Obama, and leave the pats on the back to someone else.

There's a picture going around on Facebook of Tim Tewbow & Collins. Tewbow is ridiculed for stating he's a christian, but Collins praised and given a call from BO. Yeah, it does make you shake your head......

It's not. Why not call that reporter and assure him his religious freedoms will be upheld?
