Chef Ramsey Meltdown near us!

This episode of Kitchen Nightmares with chef Ramsay aired last Friday. It was the single worst restaurant from the point of view of a owner who was just plain nutz, so much so that Gordon Ramsay walked away before even really starting to help them at the end of the episode. AND the restaurant is only a few miles from where I work. LOL

This video is the episode edited down to about 20 minutes.

Anyone here ever know anyone who is/was as crazy as this lady? Unfortunately, I have.

I read a news report about this the other day. They truly are nuts as you said. They think it is normal to have a website claiming all of the desserts are homemade when 100% of them were bought elsewhere for resale. Amazing. These are the type people who deserve to fail in their business.

That is just ONE of the "controversies". The husband (who looks about 25 years older than Amy) regularly steals tips off the table and even told Ramsay that, then denies doing it on their Facebook site.

This lady was a piece of work. She says things then denied saying it minutes later, over and over again. On one hand I wanted someone to strangle her and on the other I actually felt a little sorry for her because of her extreme unbalanced mental state.

I looked at the address again and they're only about 1 1/2 mile down the road from one of the two campuses I work at.

I have looked at a number of their online reviews at Yelp.com. If you can get back to the pre-show days, they have people who absolutely love them, and those who hate them. There is no middle ground. I only saw one that gave them a three stars out of five. Further, he will get online and actively call those with complaints liars. This was happening before the days of the show. It would appear that people complain, they improve temporarily, then relapse, and then repeat. Mom said that it would almost be worth the money to eat there, and then complain to see what would happen. :D I love my family's sense of humor!!

Jay, I don't know if you watched the video but while I have met many high strung people this lady was genuinely nuts.

After watching it with my wife sitting next to me listening while she did her own thing, I said, "You know, I may go there on my lunch tomorrow and shout out 'what sort of swill do you serve in this joint anyways???'". Gail immediately said "no you won't!!" because she knew I was thinking about it. LOL

Oh yes, the 5 star reviews were probably all people commenting on her deserts which Gordon Ramsay initially LIKED, until finding out she bought them from other places and resold as her own.

Actually, a lot of people seemed to like their food as well. However, there are frequent complaints concerning the size of their portions, the attittudes fostered by the owners, and occassionally the attittudes of the wait staff and others. There were mentions of issues of taste from time to time as well, but that seemed to vary from individual to individual. However, I would imagine that they may have knocked themselves out of business with this stunt.

Btw, how does a business go through more than 100 employees in a single year. That is not keeping them long enough to give them descent training. That was by their own facebook postings to. In some instances, where there is smoke, there is fire.

There was a scene where a waitress comes to pick up some plates and is told what table they go to and she says "are you sure?", and is fired on the spot. Amy then goes on and on about how she was "challenged!" by this "viper" of a waitress. It is easy to see where they could go through a 100 staff in a year after seeing that. What is NOT easy to see is how they are still open.
