Unshaved Amish
What are your thoughts on those unshaved Amish?
Does their lack of conviction to remain clean shaven have any affect on the quality of their furniture craftsmanship? Does anyone know of any unshaved Amish and their reasons why for allowing a few of their women to grow whiskers and fuzz? |
Re: Unshaved Amish
I see what you did here. LOL. I have never understood the man made, non biblical legislation against facial hair. My dad said that one preacher who was a friend of the family, who we fellow shipped regularly with, wouldn't talk to him til he shaved his mustache. Ill leave you with a quote from a book on one mans views on standards.
"There is no bible verse against facial hair."-Larry Booker |

This is true, and anyone who knows anything about Bro. Booker knows that he is not in favor of it. However, he also explains his thinking concerning the situation in the book. He gives an anecdote of him explaining the principle behind it to a new convert. It was done in a very loving and gentle way. |

Re: Unshaved Amish
When I've seen Amish I've wondered about all these things. It's neat that their men do not want to look feminine but why Shave their mustache? The Amish women I have seen trim the ends of their hair, bqut don't take care of any facial hair or shave their legs. The UPC women don't trim their hair but shave their legs and take care of facial hair. Hehehe.... It looks to me like it should be all the way or none.
