Going to the doctor = sin????
Apparently, I have been hiding in a closet all my life. I did not know that there is an epidemic amongst apostolic Pentecostals. Apparently, a great many 'ultra conservative' Oneness Pentecostals believe and teach and preach that it is a sin to go to the doctor for anything except a refund.
And, also apparently, huge numbers of children have died because of this. Massive numbers of poor members of 'ultra conservative churches' are dying and suffering all kinds of diseases because their pastors teach going to the doctor is a sin. Is this true? Elder Epley, is this in fact true? Are there really that many people who believe going to the doctor is a SIN? That you WILL go to hell if you go see a doctor? Anyone? |

But the good news is that they weren't wearing a ring when they were suffering or died. |

The so-called, self-named 'apostolic churches' which teach the ultracon standards are typically the one's who do this. Your asking about a number is simply your attempt to deflect the focus from the truth about the ultracon teachings. |

Those who preach this are idiots! Sure, God is a healer, but there's nothing wrong with being examined by a physician.

Re: Going to the doctor = sin????
My and my husband's families go way back in Pentecost.
I have NEVER known any preacher to preach it was a sin to go to a doctor or to take medicine. I'm sure there are a few RARE instances of such, but, I agree with Esaias....please don't broadbrush the entire group as foolish. And for the record, I love UPC, was raised in that. I am associated with WPF as of now. I consider myself very conservative, but not stupid. I have been highly offended by some of the postings on AFF against the UPC. But, every one has a right to their beliefs or unbeliefs. I love this Apostolic message and holiness lifestyle. :) |
