The Problem with NSA Surveillance Under Obama
 

I do believe that our government has prevented terrorist attacks because of surveillance under both Bush and Obama. The problem with this activity under Obama is that's we have discovered they also spy on their political opponents, harass them with the IRS and go after journalists they don't like.

It's one thing to spy on Americans who have suspicious associations and have displayed behavior or have spoken words that could be a clue to possible terrorist activity. But this most corrupt administration has shown that they cannot be trusted with so much power and authotrity.

This is what is meant by "elections have consequences". Too many go to the voting both casting their ballot because of party line politics, ideology, hatred for the other side, emotionalism, or simply being swayed by a flashy smile, nice speeches and feel good promises. Unfortunately many voters fail to look at obvious warning signs like past associations, mentors, track record, dubious positions or lack of experience.

On Election Day there are lots of high fives and chest thumping, but after the party is over, someone has to actually govern, work for the people of this country, lead---LEAD (key word here), defend the Constitution.

Of course, too many are too proud to admit the mistake of voting not just once but twice for such a flawed candidate for president. But time proves all things, and with four years behind this president and four more to go, we are beginning to see that although so much was blamed on W, the real problem sat, and still sits, in the Oval Office.

The journalists that were pursued were part of a leak that needed to be investigated.

Neither is there any proof directly connecting the White House to the IRS scandal.

If it was up to me, I'd do away with much of the new security measures aimed at protecting our country from terrorist attacks.

baseless accusations with no substance are getting old with you db, do you have some concrete allegations of wrongdoing or incompetence?

There you go again....defending Obama as usual.

1) the White House and others knew about the AP story, and all they asked was that the AP delay the story. If it was such a big deal, you'd think they would've said so.

2) James Rosen (FN reporter) did not deserve being named an enemy of the state. He did not deserve to be investigated. Rosen was NOT the leaker, someone else was.

On the IRS, there may not be yet, but the WH has already been caught lying about it, when they claimed it was just "a couple rogue employees." We know now that it wasn't, that there were offices in CA and DC that were involved too. Who knows where this goes.

I've stated in other threads that instead of amending the Patriot Act, it should be repealed. I was against it when W signed it, and I'm against Obama's expansion of it.

So sick of these liars in the administration. Obama, Holder, Sebelius, Shulman, Lerner, Carney, and now Clapper.

And this quote is just flipping ridiculous:

Clapper could have simply stated on advice of Counsel he could not answer the question in the public session. Case closed. Instead he LIED.

Clapper should be charged with perjury.
