Expands access to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), increasing the amount of pre-tax dollars individuals can deposit into portable savings accounts to be used for health care expenses. Dems will never allow anything that will take away from their tax dollars. |
Re: Republicans Obamacare Replacement Plan
Why does this just seem like a last-ditch effort to de-legitimize the President's legacy?
The country could have repealed "Obamacare" by simply not re-electing him-- but he won and he won by a lot in a situation where historically, he should have lost by a lot. So much for the political precedence of "mandate". So much for attempting to work with the President. Now, some of my fellow Republicans want to come forward with something that they probably don't even intend to follow through with to see that it becomes law. Those who would oppose President Obama simply because of who he is have had plenty of time to suggest meaningful revisions. They were heavily courted during the time the healthcare law was being crafted and voted on-- but most refused to even participate. This Republican will does not support the last-ditch, too-late efforts of these clowns. |

Now the truth is out. Parts of the law are taking effect. The true cost of Obamacare is becoming apparent. My insurance rates have went up. Many family members are paying more for prescriptions instead of less. I don't know if the Repubs have a better plan or not. They can lay out these talking points but I haven't seen any details as to how they will pull it off. Either way, Obamacare is not the answer. |

Obama's legacy
Obamacare: Walgreens Dropping Current Coverage for 160,000 Workers Like the president said, "of you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.” Well, unless you're one of the tens of millions of Americans who can't. Including, it turns out, lots of Walgreens employees (via Ed Morrissey): Walgreen Co. (WAG), the biggest U.S. drugstore chain, will move its workers into a private health insurance exchange to buy company-subsidized coverage, the latest sign of how the debate over Obamacare is accelerating a historic shift in corporate health-care coverage. Walgreen’s decision affects about 160,000 current employees and follows similar action this year by Sears Holdings Corp. (SHLD) and Darden Restaurants Inc. (DRI) As an alternative to administering a traditional health plan, all three will send their employees to an exchange run by Aon Plc. IBM and GE recently announced similar changes in their retirees plans, which are not to be confused with UPS' decision to drop spousal coverage. CBS News reported the "big deal" announcement this morning, noting that employees may have to swallow more out-of-pocket costs due to Walgreens' cost-saving move: http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybens...tm_campaign=nl Hmmm... I thought he said: "So let me begin by saying this: I know that there are millions of Americans who are content with their health care coverage - they like their plan and they value their relationship with their doctor. And that means that no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what. My view is that health care reform should be guided by a simple principle: fix what's broken and build on what works." Ooopppsss... Lied again... |
Re: Republicans Obamacare Replacement Plan
HELLO, Jermyn!!!
Health insurance rates go up, and in FLORIDA as well. They will have no choice but to keep premiums high in order to ensure that they stay in business. Why is that important for us to know? Because this healthcare bill is interfering with the AMERICAN FREE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM! Free enterprise is an economic system that provides individuals the opportunity to make THEIR OWN economic decisions, FREE OF government constraints, and as private profit-potential businesses. The Affordable Care Act is a SOCIALIST system of healthcare! I have NO IDEA why ANYONE would think the IRS needs to be involved in our HEALTHCARE!!! :girlytantrum :ranting :pullhair :groan That's all I have to say.... :D |

This will help as it has helped us here in Texas - "Reforms medical malpractice laws in a commonsense way that limits trial lawyer fees and non-economic damages while maintaining strong protections for patients." And I believe this is the plan that has worked so well in Galveston - "Expands access to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), increasing the amount of pre-tax dollars individuals can deposit into portable savings accounts to be used for health care expenses." It isn't quite 200 pages, which is a plus. I haven't had time to review it, but the points posted, I have seen them offered before. I know Newt brought up a good deal of these ideas during his primary campaign. |
