This is the same bunch who hated Reagan. The Gipper was a fluke. He was written off in 1976, but snuck on them to win the nomination in 1980. The establishment hated him.

We see the same thing now. the approval rating of the GOP is in the tank because principled conservatives are abandoning them. The Democrat approval ratings will not go under 40% because the liberal voting block will back them like robots no matter what.

This unneeded surrender today by the GOP establishment was not really a surrender. It was the GOP establishment joining forces with those who they are actually in league with, the Democrats. The GOP establishment does not want the size of government to shrink, so it is not surprising that they would resist GOP voters and politicians who do. They are willing to fight the shrinking of government even if it means they are a permanent minority party. Having 45% control is better than no control.

Do not think that the GOP establishment really intends on standing by and letting Obamacare "collapse from its own weight"? No way. Just when you think Obamacare is sinking beneath the waves, the GOP establishment will throw it a life line. You can count on that.
