Please Explain the Silencing of the Women
When the scriptures literally state in the New Testament for women to be silent in church and to not usurp authority over a man in church, how should we apply that in 21st century American Christianity?
What did it mean back then and how should we apply that scriptural concept (or even command) now? |

Oh boy. You mean you don't want to read through 1000s of posts describing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ad nauseum why the blessed and holy apostolic twin brothers believe women must be SILENT in the church?

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Take the whole counsel of God. Great, women should be silent in the church (and it's not talking about a building). Now that women are silent, where's the laying on of hands and the sick recovering. See, it's relatively easy to keep women silent in a religious setting, but it's a whole nuther thing to have signs following those very same men who keep the women silent. |

Interesting. Essentially saying this: If we take God's word so literally that it becomes letter and law instead of spirit, it is very likely that the miraculous nature of God won't be involved. Correct?
