Alarming Invasion of Ukraine
Russia is advancing on the country of Ukraine. I have a dear friend who has family in the Ukraine. She emigrated here about ten years ago. Her family are in turmoil and fear now because of what Russia is doing.
Please pray for the country and people of Ukraine. They are people like you and me, who are very, very afraid for what this portends for their country. |

I pray for the people like your friends, but i hope America stays out of this. This is NOT our problem. We allowed ourselves to be drug into WW1 instead of just minding our own business, and that mistake led to the rise of Hitler, Stalin and the communist revolution globally.
When the Cold War ended we should have gotten out of Europe. These people will be fighting each other until Jesus comes. Let the Ukraine and Russia duke it out. Putin is probably trying to drag us into something so he can have an excuse to drop and EMP bomb on us and occupy us with the Chinese. |
Re: Alarming Invasion of Ukraine
I agree totally Originalist. The area in question in the Crimea is the area where Florence Nightingale became known for her work, as Russia, and Britain were at war with each other then over the same area.
I just read up on some of the history of this area. Apparently 60% of the populace in the Crimea are Russians. Russia has a major base in the southern port of Crimea, where HALF of its fleet resides. An agreement was made in the '90s for this area to be leased to the Russians until 2017. However, recently the (now deposed) Ukraine President made an agreement with Russia that the base could continue to remain with the Russians until 2042. The deposed Ukraine president was collaborating with Russia, and now that there is unstability in Ukraine government, Russia is using this opportunity to flex its muscles, and take back what it considers to be its own. This area was divided up post-WW II, unfairly in Russia's opinion, and has been a hotbed since. So, Russia considers this area its own, and the country of Ukraine, for the most part, wants freedom from the dictates of Russia. So yes, there is a lot at stake here, between a group of people who have always been at odds, and indeed, the USA has NO BUSINESS trying step into this business, in one sense. But if Russia goes to killing innocent people in its struggles, you can bet the US won't sit back, and again, you are right... the possibility exists of being pulled into a war, and taking sides in a war that has no winners. |

On a side note...Putin is bold to do this because Obama is a WIMP, the UN and NATO are paper tigers and we've been stretched to thin, to long in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But Obama made us look weak with Syria, the missile defense and doing nothing about Georgia |
