The Shack Movie?
So they are making a movie about the book The Shack. Ha Ha Ha! :toofunny
And Oprah may play one of the parts of the trinity. Below I pasted a small part of the article. You can't make this stuff up. It did not specify which part Oprah could be given, although the main character, Mackenzie Allen Phillips, encounters three versions of God while in the shed, one of them Papa, an African-American woman. The two other members of the Trinity who Phillips meets are Jesus, a Jewish Carpenter, and Sarayu, a woman of unclear Asian descent whom he later discovers is the Holy Spirit. http://www.christianpost.com/news/op...-movie-118772/ |

Re: The Shack Movie?
This was years ago but I read The Shack. First my wife said everybody at her job was reading a book called The Shack. I was like whatever. Then I heard people saying it was a great book, you have to read it, it changed my life. So some how I got a copy (I don't remember if it was given to me or if I bought it at Goodwill for $1).
But anyway I don't have a problem reading whatever I want (as far as Christian books go). I have no hang ups of whether the author goes to the same church as me. So I read the book. A major part of it is that the guy is in a shack with God and he interacts with the three persons of the trinity. God the Father is a outspoken black woman, Jesus is a Jewish carpenter and the holy spirit is an Asian woman? Was the author trying to be controversial to get more attention for the book? Was he trying to make people think outside of their normal box of theology? I don't know. The thing is that I never recommended the book to anyone. He lost a bigger audience by pushing his insane idea of the trinity. I am not bashing any Trinitarians. I am just saying this author went into left field. |
I stopped reading once he got to the shack. It was absurd.

Re: The Shack Movie?
Dumbest book ever and it teaches Universalism.

Re: The Shack Movie?
Eh, I thought it was an okay book. Christian fiction. A lot of symbolic artistic liberty (as is often seen in the works of C. S. Lewis). I think people get way too uptight. The overall message of the book was one of healing and grace. Not a bad book. But I've read better books.
On a side note... as with all the controversy surrounding the movie Noah and books like these I begin to wonder... have we as Christians become a people who lack imagination? |
