Candle under a bushel

Re: Candle under a bushel
I don't know. The song's light tune but heavy message doesn't go together... The guy has talent, great tune, voice, and piano playing. Almost has a jazzy, black gospel sound to it. He certainly is speaking a message with the song... but I find it disturbing that a song that should reach out to the heart of someone who might need to hear it - almost sounds like a song of rejoicing or perhaps even a mocking of the one who needs repenting.
The song would have been more of a blessing if there was some sort of refrain that called out in love reaching to the one who thinks he is saved and isn't - to repent and take their candle out of the bushel. |

But on second thought - I am reminded of a song my parents used to play all the time growing up, it was called "Excuses" and it was done by the Kingsman, and it was a light silly song making fun of different saints, and all their excuses on why they found problems with the church, and I remember it being an entertaining song more than anything. Perhaps this is what Bro. Pixler was trying to do with the song. It definitely has a catchy, upbeat tune to it.
